Langford Gets Season-Opening Win at Peach State Speedway
Jefferson, GA (April 9, 2004) - Beautiful weather and a respectable car count greeted competitors and fans alike to Peach State Speedway for the season-opening regular season race night for the fast one-half mile paved oval located in northern Georgia. Over 45 cars entered for the four races scheduled by new Peach State Speedway general manager Scott Sutherland.
Lee Langford was able to outlast John Harrison to win the season-opener for the late models at Peach State Speedway Friday night. Joel Anderson and Kevin Perry finished third and fourth, respectively, while Dwayne Buggay completed the top-five.
In the Ice Man division, David Murphy got the best of Richard Herring for his first win of the year. Kevin Perry and Brandon Wood completed the top-four.
In the Sportsman division race Travis Hearn took home top honors while Chuck Cooper finished second. Corey Dearing followed in third, while Chris Cockrum and Chris Stegall finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
The Min-Stock division featured an action-packed race with Chad Hoopaugh winning the feature. Jody Denton was second with Gerald Jones third.
