Late Fees to be Waived.
The new director of operations of the GAS series has decided to waive the "late fees" for late entries to the World Crown 400 Weekend. Originally any entry postmarked after October 15th, there was a late fee varying from $25 - $50 depending on the class. In speaking with series director Vince Whitmire he stated, "I am aware many teams have end of season obligations, finishing up local track events, etc and there's always a possibility a racer could seriously damage his equipment. I feel it's unfair to penalize some drivers or teams who may have prior commitments or sponsor obligations to fulfill before committing to the Word Crown event. We hate to stick extra charges on top of the expenses already incurred by the drivers when it's not a real issue if we have their entry in a month before the race or not. In the interest of trying to save the racers money, and doing what we feel is in the best interest of the racers, we have decided to do away with the late fee."
