World Crown Weekend Upon Us.
This weekend's Season Finale' looks to have good field in all divisions.
The long anticipated World Crown weekend is upon us. As has been advertised, Zaxby's has come on board to sponsor this annual event. Stop by your local Zaxby's establishment and have something off of their great menu. If you get there soon, you might can pick up some of the $5 off coupons and save five dollars of the price of admission for the Sunday World Crown race.
One coupon per person, and the coupons are only good for Sunday.
As far as this weekends races. We are all excited and happy to see the warm weather has stuck around this late into the race season. Highs in the 70's and lows in the 50's have been quite pleasant. If it was to turn a little cooler by the weekend, I am sure the racing will be intense and keep your heart pumping with excitement. This is an event not to be missed, and everyone will be talking about it during the off-season. SO make plans to come out every day for all the racing action. Remember the grandstands are FREE on Friday as the event kicks off with practice for all divisions, and qualifying for all the local divisions.
Saturday is more practice, and at 6 pm qualifying gets underway for the Late Model series. We have had entries from as far away as Colorado and New York. I guess $1000 to just START the race, and $10,000 to win brings out a good field.
In any event Saturday will be packed FULL of racing action. Late Model Qualifying kicks off the evening, then we will have 50 lap features for all our local divisions. The Iceman division is expecting it's biggest and most competitive field of the season. Also for the Pro Challenge cars this is the season wrap-up for the national title so we are expecting a LOT of those cars to be on hand also. As usual we have a good field of Mini Stock cars, and Pro Trucks. Since most tracks are closed for the season, I also expect many racers to show up that are not 'regulars' at Peach State. This race IS a points race for the Peach State racers, so we expect a big field to be on hand.
Sunday is the Zaxby's World Crown 250. It's gonna be 250 laps of high drama. A big competitive field, locals GAS regulars mixed in with out of town hot-shoes will be vying for the World Crown champion trophy and the $10,000 first place check. The Sunday race will be starting at 2:00 pm sharp. Gates open at 11:am. By 1:00 pm pre-race festivities will be under way. Cars will be lined up on the front straight, and at 1:15 there will be a drivers autograph session. SO bring your favorite items to get signed by your favorite drivers.
Driver intos are at 1:45, and the green flag will fall on the field at 2:00 pm. Come join in the action and see what all unfolds for yourself. Don't miss out on this weekends exciting action, and have to hear it all second hand.
See you at the Speedway.
